Cierra
Business Solutions provides a State-of-the-art
VPN/Security Management Solution (VMS) as an integral component
of the SAFE Blueprint for Enterprise Network Security from
Cisco, and contributes to organizational productivity by combining
Web-based tools for configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting
VPNs, firewalls, and network- and host-based intrusion detection
systems (IDSs).
Cierra Business
Solutions’ VMS solution also offers network
device inventory and change audit and software distribution
features.
Functions that Cierra Business Solutions VMS offers
include:
Firewall

Cierra Business Solutions
uses Cisco’s Management Center for Firewalls which features
the look-and-feel of the PIX Device Manager (PDM) but offers
centralized management scalability of up to 1,000 Cisco
Firewalls. The Management Center for Firewalls provides
entire SAFE coverage and features centralized management
of access rules, network address translation, intrusion
detection and EZVPN on Cisco Firewalls. The Management Center
for Firewalls supports centralized management of virtually
any Cisco Firewall security network including remote access,
DMZ, SOHO, voice networks, storage networks, wireless networks,
Internet security and management security provider scenarios.
Cierra Business Solutions
offers enterprise and service provider users the features
they need to easily manage Cisco PIX Firewalls. It features
an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) to help you
set up and configure your PIX Firewall. In addition, a wide
range of informative, real-time, and historical reports
provide critical insight into usage trends, performance
baselines, and security events. Secure communication allows
efficient management of local or remote Cisco PIX Firewalls.
In short, PDM simplifies Internet security, making it a
cost-effective tool that enhances productivity and network
security saving both time and money.
The CiscoWorks Management Center for IDS Sensors is management
software for the configuration of network IDS, switch IDS
sensors and IDS network modules for routers. This tool is
a featured component of the VPN/Security Management Solution
(VMS). The software allows you manage multiple sensors concurrently
by creating sensor groups and thereby saving time for the
administrator. The software also provides an easy to use
Web interface and wizards to reduce the learning time. The
Management Center for IDS Sensors also delivers the capability
to create new signatures so that administrators can more
accurately detect threats, and the capability to edit signatures
to reduce false positives.
Cierra Business Solutions
uses the CiscoWorks Router Management Center
(Router MC), a component of the CiscoWorks VPN/Management
Solution (VMS), to provide a scalable security management
for the configuration and deployment of VPN connections.
Router MC provides a powerful, flexible, and intuitive way
to configure and deploy large-scale and site-to-site VPN
connections. Router MC provides administrative user-approval
controls for control over individual user and deployment
permissions, enabling large enterprises to define multiple
administrative and operational roles. In addition, Router
MC provides an intuitive GUI interface for simplified policy
definitions, a heirarchical inheritance model, flexible
deployment options and enhanced reporting capabilities.
With the addition of the Cisco Security Agent technology,
Cierra Business Solutions offers its customers the most
comprehensive security threat protection portfolio for securing
large corporate networks by extending protection to desktops
and servers.
This technology is a security software solution that helps
prevent malicious behavior on servers and desktops (aka,
“endpoints”). The technology is composed of several elements:
Cisco Security Agents – core endpoint
software which resides on servers or desktops/laptops and
autonomously enforces local policies that prevent attacks
CiscoWorks Management Center for Cisco Security
Agents – core management software that provides
a central means of defining and distributing policies, providing
software updates, and maintaining communications to the
agents.
The advanced CiscoWorks Management Center for Cisco Security
Agents provides all management functions for agents in a
centralized manner. Its role-based, Web browser "manage
from anywhere" access makes it easy for administrators
to control thousands of agents per MC. The CiscoWorks Management
Center for Cisco Security Agents is a featured component
within the CiscoWorks VPN/Security Management Solution (VMS).
CiscoWorks VPN Monitor is a Web-based management tool that
allows network administrators to collect, store, and view
information about IP Security (IPSec) VPN connections for
remote-access or site-to-site VPN terminations. CiscoWorks
VPN Monitor manages VPNs that are configured on Cisco VPN
3000 concentrators, Cisco 1700 modular access routers, Cisco
2600 and 3600 multiservice platforms, and Cisco 7100, 7200,
and 7400 series VPN routers.
Cierra Business Solutions’
VMS introduces improved functions for monitoring
and troubleshooting the performance of services that contribute
to enterprise network security, with the Monitoring for
Performance, Version 2.0. These functions will help to:
Monitor the status of VPN's
Correlate
and graphically display metrics associated with active VPNs
Identify
all the networks and users connected by VPNs on a per device
basis
Monitor
the real time device statistics of Firewalls
Monitor the performance of Cisco Catalyst Content
Switching Module (CSM) and Cisco Catalyst SSL Module
